Device for preheating of boiler fuel oil in a burner ahead of the nozzle which is supplied with oil through at least one flat canal, the device consisting of at least one PTC-element 14 inserted in the nozzle stick of the burner and heatable by means of electric current, said PTC-element abutting with at least one flat side against a wall of said flat canal 16 in heat-conductive contact. In order to obtain full security against the temperature of the fuel oil exceeding the maximum limits set by regulations, even if the self-regulating properties of the PTC-elements 14 utilised for the pre-heating are considered, e.g. caused by tolerances of the PTC-elements 14 or the heat capacity of the pre-heating device, a security thermostat 29 is connected in series with the PTC-elements 14 and placed in heat-conductive contact with a wall of the flat canal 16. <IMAGE>
