PURPOSE:To attain the calculation of charge even with less kinds of tablewares by using identification information provided to the rim of the bottom of the tablewares and outer size information to set the relation corresponding to the price in performing automatic calculation of various charges of meal through the use of a television camera or the like. CONSTITUTION:Identification information such as color or graph is provided to the rim of the bottom of each tableware in response to each dish price, the tablewares are placed on a transparent tray, the image of which is picked up by the television camera from the bottom side so as to obtain an image pickup signal. The image pickup signal includes the identification information and the outer size information of each tableware, given to a detecting means 8 and detected. A strong means 9 is provided with a price table storing price data at each outer size information and identification information. A retrieval means 10 uses the price table of the storage means 9 in response to the outer size information and the identification information from the detecting means 8 so as to read the price data. The price data read in this way is given to a totalizer, where the data is summed in the unit of tray, the charge is calculated and displayed on a display device. |
