PURPOSE:To obtain a completely automatic white balance adjusting device with real time by setting up the logical status of plural storage elements to a constant value immediately after turning on a power supply. CONSTITUTION:When a photographing start button in depressed, a switch 31 is turned on synchronously with the depression and A/D converters 21, 22 quantize color difference signals S4, S5 under control by a control circuit 27. The quantized color difference signals S21, S22 are stored in a sequential storage circuit 30 through the control circuit 27. Every storage of a new signal in the storage circuit 30, the mean value of the stored color difference signals is operated and applied to comparators 23, 24 through D/A converters 26, 28. The comparators 23, 24 compares the mean value with reference voltage for setting white balance to adjust the white balance. At the ON of the power supply, a power supply ON detecting circuit 32 is actuated and the control circuit 27 initializes the storage device 30 to the most average and frequent storage status.
