Apparatus for producing a hip prosthesis of the type comprising means which make it possible to produce, in the base of the acetabulum, a preliminary hole (15) serving for the centring and the guiding of a tool for repairing the cavity, which is mounted rotatably about a shaft passing through the preliminary hole, and a cup whose external shape has a profile complementing that of the acetabulum after repair, characteristically comprising a rod (2) having a threaded zone (3) over a portion of its length and at one end of which is mounted a drill (4), an element (6) in the form of an internally threaded sleeve of a length less than that of the rod being mounted on the latter, equipped, at one of its ends, with a cutter (8) whose profile corresponds to that of the cavity (12) after repair. <IMAGE>
