PURPOSE:To obtain an easily takable titled processed food, by slicing the root of Panax ginseng in thin slices, drying for a definite time, immersing in an alcohol- containing liquid for a specific time, and drying the product. CONSTITUTION:The root of naturally grown or cultured and harvested Panax ginseng is sliced to a thickness of about 0.5-1.5mm., and dried for 1 day. The dried root is immersed in an alcohol-containing liquid, preferably a liquid heated at 30-50 deg.C, for 10-24hr. The drying and alcohol-immersion procedures are preferably repeated several times. The treated root is immersed for a definite time in a liquid obtained by mixing the alcohol-containing liquid with honey, and dried again to obtain an easily takable processed Panax ginseng free from the characteristic smell and bitter taste of Panax ginseng. |
