Described are mixtures consisting of: (a) at least one C4-C10 in alkanoic acid defined according to the structure: <IMAGE> (wherein n represents an even integer of 2, 4, 6 or 8); and (b) the ethyl ester of 2-hydroxy-4-methyl pentanoic acid having the structure: <IMAGE> which mixtures are useful for augmenting or enhancing the aroma or taste of "tropical" fruit flavored foodstuffs.
