PURPOSE:To detect finally the changing degree of the interval between a magnetic head and the surface of a magnetic disk to the vibration of the magnetic disk device itself or the disturbance. CONSTITUTION:A head arm 7 attached to a head driving positioner 8 and a magnetic head core slider part 3 supported by the arm 7 are provided to the rear side of a transparent glass disk 2 attached to a driver 1. The part 3 floats up to the revolving disk 2 by the contact start, and the interference fringes of light appear according to the distance between the part 3 and the disk 2. A since wave current having a fixed peak level is supplied to the positioner 8, for example, as the disturbance or the whole system receives hammaring. Then the variations of the distance between the part 3 and the disk 2 and the tilt of the magnetic head core slider surface are detected as a change of the color of the interference fringes at a part or the whole of the magnetic head core slider surface. Thus it is possible to measure quantitatively the floating stability of a magnetic head from the color changing cycle and the color change. |
