PURPOSE:To make a temperature distribution nearly uniform on the surface of a roller and widen the permissible range of heat set temperature, and suppress unnecessary energy loss and attain low power consumption by preventing the emission of energy from heat insulators provided on both flanks of the roller. CONSTITUTION:The heat fixing roller 1 has at least the flange part made of stainless steel, and doughnut-shaped heat insulators, i.e. heat resisting felts 4 are inserted around the rotating shaft 3 on both flanks; and the felts 4 are pressed against the flanks of the roller with ball bearings 5 for rotational support to cover both flanks of the roller. Consequently, when the roller 1 is used while the temperature distribution of a halogen lamp is increased by 10% at both sides as compared with the center part, the felts 4 cut off radiant energy from both flanks of the roller 1, i.e. flange part end surface. Therefore, the temperature difference T3 between the roller center part and both sides is suppressed below 5 deg.C. |
