<p>PURPOSE:To enable the detection of a target with large amplitude, by further combining half-width information with the output of a quantizer. CONSTITUTION:An input video signal 11 is compared with a quantization level for detecting a target by a quantizer 7 and a signal exceeding the quantization level is digitized to be inputted as a wave form 12. A gate is applied to video amplitude digitized by A/D 8 on the basis of the wave form 12 to obtain a wave form 13. The half-width of this wave form 13 is calculated by a half-width detector 9 and the output wave form 14 of the detector 9 is supplied to a pulse width detector 10 and compared with a pulse width detecting gate 15. The pulse exceeding this gate width is rejected to obtain a wave form 16. By this mechanism, even a target with large amplitude is not changed in a pulse width (half- width) as compared with that at the time of small amplitude. Therefore, even the target with large amplitude can be detected.</p> |
