PURPOSE:To stabilze the titled compound useful as a resin crosslinking agent, etc. for a long term and obtain the titled compound safely with ease, by reacting an alkyleneimine with 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate in the presence of water and at least one or more specific surfactants. CONSTITUTION:An alkyleneimine, e.g. ethyleneimine, is reacted with 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate in the presence of water and at least one or more anionic and/or nonionic surfactants to give an aqueous dispersion of diphenylmethane- bis-4,4'-N,N'-dialkylurea (hereinafter abbreviated to DPU). Naphthalenesulfonic acid-formalin condensate, polyoxylakyl phenol ether, etc. may be cited as the above-mentioned surfactants. The amount of the surfactants to be incorporated is 0.1-20wt%, based on DPU, and preferably 1-10wt% in the case of the nonionic surfactants. The aimed substance has improved stability for a long period, and is stably dispersed in water for a long period.
