PURPOSE:To reduce greatly the generation of the head detaching noises and even number order distortions due to a transcribed pattern by providing N and S pole parts alternately in the tape width direction on an active surface to obtain the magnetization groups to array plural numbers of these groups in the tape driving direction and furthermore tilting the boundary line between N and S pole parts in the tape width direction for magnetization. CONSTITUTION:The magnetization groups 11a-11h are arrayed on a tape rubbing surface 10 in the tape driving direction X, and eash of these groups contains N and S pole parts 13 and 14 magnetized alternately in the tape width direction. As a result, tie noises can be greatly reduced. In addition, each boundary line 12 between both parts 13 and 14 is tilted to the track width direction to obtain good erasion characteristics in any position. Furthermore the generation of even number order distortions is avoided by selecting the width Tm of both parts 13 and 14 in the track width direction to satisfy kTm=Tw (k: an even number), where Tw shows the track width. At the same time, the good S/N characteristics can be obtained for each magnetization group since the intensity of magnetization of this group is gradually reduced at the entrance side of the tape. |
