<p>The process consists of crushing or milling the sugar cane, which has been previously washed and neutralisation of the juice obtd. This neutralisation takes place in a boiling operation with the object of preserving the juice in a high state of purity. The decantation is not subjected to the sulphiting and liming processes, the sulphur furnace being eliminated with other elements. Decantation is effected by making the juice flow through a steam coil. This operation brings about a total purificn. of the juice and is followed by evapn. and concn. to a syrup of high density. The evaporators produce a mass which is subsequently centrifuged and then dried.</p> |
