PURPOSE:To prevent machining water from splattering upward with certainly, by making up a waterproof ceiling board, which blocks up the upper opening of a waterproof cover from topside, into such a structure as being held by a fixed part of an electro-discharge machine. CONSTITUTION:In time of electro-discharge machining, a steam of water is sprayed to an electric discharge machining zone from a feed water nozzle of a working head 14 and another feed water nozzle installed in a tip end of a fixed arm 20. At this time, a waterproof device is constituted of a waterproof cover 40 attached to a transfer table 18 and a waterproof ceiling board 42 attached to the working head 14 at the lower part of a slider 12, and when the quantity and pressure of injection water out of the said feed water nozzle is large enough, machining water after injection, which splatters sideward, upward and downward, is caught held inside this device without fail, thus its splattering around an electric discharge machine is prevented from occurring. On this occasion, even when the waterproof cover 40 moves together with the transfer table 18 and a work W, if the waterproof board 42 having an area taking their movements into account is formed in advance, the upward splattering of the machining water is always preventable. |
