Solar radiation collector - includes an intermediate device for reducing energy losses due to receiver radiation

A solar radiation collector comprising a receiver through which passes a medium to be heated by solar radiation. A concentrator concentrates solar radiation onto the receiver by means of an intermediate device located between the concentrator surface which reflects back to the receiver radiation emitted. It has a window in the perimeter through which radiation is focussed onto the receiver by the concentrator. The receiver when viewed in section is polygonal or approximately so and the intermediate device is of curved arcs formed to concentrate onto the receiver radiation emitted from it.
