PURPOSE:To operate a heat pump in a region, in which the performance factor of the heat pump is high and at the same time obtain the predetermined hot water temperature at the time of usage of supplying hot water in the evening by a structure wherein a controller having a circuit to determine the start and stop of a compressor based upon the outdoor air temperature, the temperature of water in a hot water storage tank and the present time is provided. CONSTITUTION:A timer to count the present time is incorporated in a controller 6 to control the start and stop of a compressor 2. Under the conditions that the temperature tx of the water in a hot water storags tank is raised up to the predetermined heating up temperature or the upper limit temperature te, the operating hours of a compressor 2 correlates with the difference between the upper limit temperature te and the outdoor air temperature ta and the difference between the upper limit temperature te and the temperature tx of the water in the hot water storage tank. Now, let K denotes the correction factor, He the predetermined time in the evening and H the present time, then the operating time of the compressor 2 is determined within the range: He-K(te-ta) (te-tx)<=H<=He. Consequently, the compressor 2 is put into operation during the time zone, in which the insolation amount is large and the outdoor air temperature ta is high. Thus, the temperature tx of the water in the hot water storage tank reaches the upper limit temperature te within the predetermined time He. |
