<p>PURPOSE:To diminish the amount of radioactive waste simply and sharply and to separate uranium hexafluoride and gaseous impurity effectively by utilizing an oil phase dissolving various gasses fully in order to remove the gaseous impurity contained in uranium hexafluoride. CONSTITUTION:Perfluoropolyether series fluorine oil or polytrifluorochloroethylene series (expressed as oil hereinafter) of fluorocarbon oil which does not react with uranium hexafluoride chemically is charged in an oil vessel 2 and is deaerated by a vacuum pump 5 previously. Next, gaseous uranium hexafluoride contg. impure gasses such as air and HF is introduced to the oil vessel 2 through a line 1 and is dissolved. After a valve 6 is closed and valves 7-10 are opened and the oil vessel 2 is evacuated roughly to about 1Torr, said vessel 2 is heated with a heater 4 gradually to deaerate UF6 and the UF6 is sealed in a reservoir 3. Finally, the heater 4 is heated a little more strongly than the above heating to deaerate the impure gasses. By said way, the uranium hexafluoride can be purified and the heating temperature is regulated to about 10 deg.C higher than room temperature.</p> |
