PURPOSE:To ensure high adhesion strength and excellent anti-pollution property, by a method wherein a thermal transfer layer consisting of a composition containing specified amounts of an oil-soluble dye, a low melting point substance comprising a polycaprolactone having a specified number average molecular weight as a main constituent and a fine powder insoluble but dispersible in organic solvents is provided on a heat-resistant base. CONSTITUTION:An oil-soluble dye, a low melting point substance comprising polycaprolactone as a main constituent and a fine powder insoluble but dispersible in organic solvents in an amount of 2-30wt% are mixed with each other, and by using the resultant mixture, a thermal transfer layer is provided on the heat-resistant base. By this, sharp images can be formed. A polycaprolactone having a number average molecular weight of about 8,000-70,000 is used. By using the polycaprolactone as a main constituent, it is possible to enhance the adhesion strength to the base, to prevent peeling due to bending, to enhance melt-transferrability, and to prevent breakage of characters or ground contamination due to friction. |
