PURPOSE:To attain scanning control at high speed by providing the 1st and 2nd marker groups to an encoder plate and detecting the 1st and 2nd marker groups by a detector so as to improve the scanning accuracy with simple constitution thereby increasing the degree of freedom. CONSTITUTION:A carriage 1 of a scanning position controller is supported freely slidably to guide bars 7, 8 suspended to left/right frames 6, the carriage 1 is driven by a DC motor 4, the recording paper on a platen 9 is scanned by a recording head 2. A detector 20 is provided projectingly to the lower part of the carriage 1, photocouplers 10, 11 are provided respectively two arms a slit plate 12 is provided between the arms so as to allow the couplers 10, 11 to scan the slit of the plate 12. The plate 12 is used as an encoder plate, lower side slits SL1-SLn are sectioned into zones for recording control and upper side slits S1-Sn are formed to an equal pitch corresponding to the recording position. Then the lower side and upper side slits are detected by the couplers 10, 11 respectively so as to improve the scanning accuracy. |
