The circuit detects the tuning state (i.e. proper tuning, mistuning and slight mistuning) of the local oscillator of the television tuner. The tuning detecting circuit receives a pair of oppositely phased signals from an automatic fine tuning circuit, and generates an output signal indicating the tuning state of the local oscillator. A synchronization detecting circuit, receiving synchronizing signals and flayback pulses, determines whether the synchronization is maintained. This circuit generates an outut signal indicating the synchronization of the synchronizing signals and the flyback pulses.
