1,091,544. Cleaning conveyer belts. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. Jan. 15, 1965 [Jan. 15, 1964], No. 1974/65. Heading B8A. Scraper blades 21a, 21b are carried by members 24 on respective sides of a conveyer belt 2. Spring units 30 act between a fixed frame 40 and the associated member 24 to urge the blades 21a, 21b against the belt 2. A plate (54) of glass (Fig. 3b, not shown) overlaid by a sheet (56) of rubber and a sheet metal support (52), serves to limit oscillation of the belt 2. A series of jets 58 spray atomized liquid on the belt. The outer jets are angled inwardly. Means are provided (Fig. 5, not shown) for supplying compressed air, instead of liquid, to the jets 58. A drying roller 78 is carried by arms 84 adjustable at 86. Water is squeezed out of the roller 78 by a pressure roller 88. A simpler construction (Fig. 1, not shown) is described which uses only one scraper blade. |
