PURPOSE:To detect leaking sodium effectively and securely by enclosing powdery solids containing a material which is liquid at room temperatures and under atmospheric pressure in a heat resistant capsule as to FBR. CONSTITUTION:Capsule type acoustic wave generators 19 for detecting leaking sodium are arranged along piping 15 at specific intervals, and a part which reacts with liquid sodium to form an exhaust opening is provided to part of the capsule made of a heat resisting material, and powdery solids containing a material which produce vapor more than several atmospheres at temperature of several hundreds deg.C are enclosed in the capsule. If the piping 15 cracks, high-temperature liquid sodium 16 leaks and operates on the device 19 to generate an acoustic wave with a specific level. This acoustic wave is detected to make an acoustic analysis, thereby calculating the generation position of the acoustic wave. |
