MANUFACTURE OF HEATING BODY

PURPOSE:To manufacture a heating body having superior dielectric strength by forming an insulating enamel layer on the surface of a metallic substrate by the electrophoresis of glass frit when a beltlike metallic heating element surrounded with an enamel layer is attached to the surface of the substrate. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a metallic substrate 1 of Al, steel or the like is roughened by sand blast or other method and cleaned by degreasing. The surface is coated with glass frit by electrophoresis to form an insulating enamel layer 2, and a ferritic stainless steel strip 3 is wound around the layer 2 as a very thin metallic heating element. An ordinary enamel layer 4 is then formed by coating with a spray gun so that the heating element 3 is perfectly covered, and drying and calcination are carried out. A heating body having superior dielectric strength between the metallic substrate 1 and the thin beltlike metallic heating element 3 is obtd.
