PURPOSE:To prolong the life of a heat fixing device and to reduce its power consumption by holding the heat fixing device above room temperatures normally and below specific image fixation temperatures, and raising its temperature to the specific image fixation temperature from the point of time of use of the device. CONSTITUTION:The heat fixing device 15 is brought under temperature control at low temperature T4 during its semi-standby period; and there is a small thermal adverse influence for a long period, the degree of the heat filling in the device is small, and a fan 19 for heat discharge need not be operated, so that there is no noise generated by the fan 19. Further, the power consumption in the standby period is small. Then, when an image information signal is input ted from a transmission side, the temperature control temperature of the heat fixing device 15 is switched over from T4 to T3 with a device use signal preced ing a print-on signal and a fixing device heater 29 is powered on continuously until the fixing device 15 rises in temperature to the temperature T3. The fan 19 also begins to operate. |
