PURPOSE:To reduce the axial dimension and to simplify the constitution by operating a speed change clutch by pressure difference in a torque converter and disposing a clutch and a speed change gear in the converter. CONSTITUTION:A torque converter 10 comprises pump impeller 11, a turbine runner 12 and a stator 13 fixed through an one-way clutch 14. A planetry gear mechanism 20 comprising a sun gear 21, a planetry pinion 22, a ring gear 23 and a carier 24 is disposed in the torque converter 10, and a clutch 14 is operated by pressure difference in the torque converter 10. Thus, the axial dimension can be reduced and the constitution can be simplified. |
