PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a chatter mark by making deflector rolls freely movable in the line direction and adjusting freely the center distance between a work roll and the deflector roll at the outlet side. CONSTITUTION:A tension leveler presses work rolls against a strip 1 which is a material to be straightened and is stretched between deflector rolls 15a, 15b located at the outlet and inlet sides, to straighten the strip 1 by bending it. The deflector drolls 15a, 15b are arranged independently and freely movably in the line direction, and the work rolls 12a, 12b are arranged in series in the line direction. Therefore, both spans S2 and S3 at the outlet side of work roll can be shortened, and the generation of a chatter mark is prevented even when the strip 1 is moved at high speed. |
