CONSTITUTION:A polymerizable mixture contg. a polymerizable monomer and a cationic material, such as cationic polymer, is suspended in a dispersion medium contg. a fine silica powder having a specific surface area of 30-80m<2>/g measured by the BET method, and reverse polarity as a dispersing agent, and then, the suspension thus obtained is polymerized. In such suspension polymn., since the cationic polymer in the monomer system and the reverse polarity silica powder in the dispersion medium attract each other, and the fine silica powder gathers on the surface of each suspended particle, the coalescene of the particles are prevented, and a particle size distribution suitable for toner can be obtained, and dispersion can be kept stable even in the presence of a polymn. inhibitory additive. The obtained polymer toner is uniformly triboelectrified and superior in durability, and an image high in resolution and gradation can be obtained. |
