PURPOSE:The titled composition containing a pharmaceutical selected from a quinoxaline-di-N-oxide based compound and a tetracycline based antibiotic substance and a mycinamicin based antibiotic substance together, and having synergistically enhanced antimicrobial activity and growth promoting effect. CONSTITUTION:A composition for animals containing one or two or more selected from the group consisting of a quinoxaline-di-N-oxide based compound (hereinafter abbreviated to QNO), e.g. olaquindox, and a tetracycline based antibiotic substance (hereinafter abbreviated to TC), e.g. chlorotetracycline, and a mycinamicin based antibiotic substance, e.g. mycinamicin I, as active constituents. The QNO compound and TC antibiotic substance have been utilized for treatment, prevention and feed additives for animals, but the use of the mycinamicin based antibiotic substance produces improved synergistic effect with improved antimicrobial activity and at the same time, further growth promoting effect by addition to a feed. |
