PURPOSE:To provide a surface coating agent which can impart high water repellency to powder to be stored outdoors when spread thereover and can prevent the powder from being deteriorated by oxidation, by emulsifying a specified petroleum wax component and a polymer component in water. CONSTITUTION:0.5-50wt% solid component consisting of 100pts.wt. petroleum wax component (A) having a m.p. of 45-85 deg.C selected from among slack wax having an oil content of 1wt% or above, slack microcrystalline wax having an oil content of 1wt% or above, paraffin wax, microcrystalline wax and mixtures thereof and 5-500pts.wt. polymer component (B) (e.g. acrylate homopolymer) which is tacky and has the lowest film forming temp. of 40 deg.C of below, is molten and emulsified in hot water. EFFECT:The agent is spread over powder to be stored outdoors to form a surface film, whereby the powder can be prevented from being scattered, swept away and broken. |
