HOT-MELT TYPE SEALING AGENT FOR LIGHTING INSTRUMENT

PURPOSE:To provide the titled sealing agent which has excellent weather resistance and physical properties at high and low temp. or in a wetted state and is inexpensive, containing an ethylene/propylene copolymer rubber and atactive polypropylene as main components. CONSTITUTION:15-40wt% ethylen/propylene copolymer rubber (A) (which may be a three-component rubber contg. further dicyclopentadiene), 25-40wt% atactic polypropylene (B) and 20-60wt% other resin components (C) (e.g. tackifier such as C-9 cut tackifier, thermoplastic elastomer for extender, such as polyisoprene rubber) are mixed together. The resulting hot-melt type sealing agent is suitable for use in sealing automobile lighting instruments in particular.
