PURPOSE:To adjust deviation of welding position and make three-dimensional guiding of a material to be welded smoothly by attaching a chucking device at the tip of arm of a robot through a free arm. CONSTITUTION:The chucking device 6 that guides the material A to be welded is attached to the second turning arm 11 of the robot provided in the body of a seam welding machine through a free arm consisting of a rodlike free oscillating arm 12 pivoted through a pin 11b and a U-shaped free oscillating arm 13 pivoted to both ends of the arm 12. The angle of the chucking device 6 is freely changed in at least two planes perpendicular to horizontal plane of a seam electrode. As the weld zone to be welded is held between electrode rollers 2, 3, excessive force that acts on the chucking device 6 due to deviation of welding position becomes freely rotatable by free arms 12, 13, and the chucking device 6 is prevented from receiving excessive force. |
