Flexible shafts have a flexible shaft core, an elastic sheath tube surrounding the latter and reducing sleeves which are connected to the ends of the latter and serve for connection to receiving sleeves on the motor, gearbox or apparatus. These reducing sleeves can be fixed in axially undisplaceable fashion on the receiving sleeves by connection securing means. To create a connection securing means which has a small number of components and is simple to assemble, the receiving sleeve has at least one snap-in receiver for a securing clip which reaches behind the reducing sleeves and forms a separate component.
