The vehicle wheel is formed from a wheel body which is produced using the casting or drop forging process, which wheel body has a wheel disc (1) which merges with the rim (3) via radial ribs (2) leaving through-openings (7, 8). The air through-openings (7, 8) are formed by cutting processing (turned-down portions 9 and 10) of the wheel disc (1).
