PURPOSE:To prevent blow-off of cold air upon starting room heating operation by a method wherein a blow-off temperature detecting sensor is used to operate a fan motor at a low speed rotation upon starting the room heating operation while the fan motor is operated at a specified rotating speed after the blow-off temperature has arrived at a set blow-off temperature. CONSTITUTION:Upon starting the room heating operation, a fan speed switching unit 2 is set at a low rotating speed for detecting the blow-off temperature and the signal of the unit 2 is sent to a fan driving unit 3 to operate the fan motor 4 at the low rotating speed. The low rotating speed is very small compared with a specified rotating speed for air conditioning and, therefore, airflow will never strike human bodies. The blow-off temperature detecting sensor 5 detects the blow-off temperature at all times and a temperature recognizing unit 6 recognizes the temperature. When the output from the temperature recognizing unit 6 has exceeded the set temperature, the output of the unit 6 for changing the speed of the fan motor is sent into the fan speed switching unit 2. Then, the speed of the fan is set at the specified rotating speed for air conditioning, the fan motor 4 is operated at the specified rotating speed for air conditioning and, thereafter, general room heating operation is started.
