The invention relates to a cooling bed, in particular for aluminium sections, which comprises a first feed device for a stretching station for stretching the sections, and a second feed device for a cutting-to-length station for cutting the sections to size. The first feed device comprises a plurality of movable conveyor belts which are arranged in parallel at a distance from one another and transversely to the second feed device and act in this transverse direction, while the second feed device comprises a roller conveyor. The two feed devices are arranged in an intercalated manner and operate alternately so as to guide each section first of all to the stretching station and then to the cutting-to-length station.
