PURPOSE:To inhibit a press-contacting member from being closed automatically unless a mounted original is replaced by providing a member which presses the original on a platen in a free slanting state and a means which detects the original and controls the opening and closing of the press-contacting member. CONSTITUTION:An original 16 is placed on platen glass 2, and when a cover 3 is opened after copying operation and the original 16 is taken away, a timer operates; when an original is placed within a specific time, and a series of operations is completed when not. Further, even when a start button 9 is pressed without placing any original 16, a sensor 5 does not operate and the cover 3 is not closed either. Thus, the cover 3 is not closed automatically when an original 16 is removed and an original is placed within the specific time while the cover 3 is held open. Therefore, the original 16 is prevented from being left on the platen and copied >=2 times by mistake. |
