An improved device for opening the intake line cross-section of an internal combustion engine, delayed in relation to an output control element, especially in a motor vehicle, with at least one throttle valve arranged in an intake line and actuatable at random by the output control element, is provided with a second throttle valve which can be actuated by way of a control element, especially a diaphragm motor, as a function of the pressure in the intake line downstream of the first throttle valve.
