A base is proposed for the installation of electrical apparatuses or apparatus modules, such as transformers, capacitors, measurement transducers, rectifiers or the like, which base can be assembled easily from prefabricated components and requires little space, especially during despatch. To this end, the base consists of a polygonal or circular supporting plate (1) and of at least three cantilever arms (2) which project to the exterior and are offset by at least approximately identical angles. A plurality of downwardly projecting wall parts (4) are provided on the underneath (3) of the supporting plate (1), each wall part (4) having in each case one recess (5, 8) on its upper and lower end. On its inner end (10) at the top, each cantilever arm (2) has a retaining tongue (6) which projects beyond the inner end (10) in the longitudinal direction and fits into the upper recess (5) in a wall part (4). On its inner end (10) underneath, each cantilever arm (2) has at least one hook (11) which projects beyond the inner end (10) in the longitudinal direction, projects upwards, engages behind the wall part (4) and engages by means of its hook arm (9) in the lower recess (8) of the wall part (4) (Fig. 3). <IMAGE>
