An apparatus for extending a corrugated air-conduit tube (13) compressed for storage and transport to the length envisaged for use comprises two inserts (1-10) which can be inserted in clamping fashion into the ends (13) of the tube, are provided with a gripping and/or suspension part (9) and are connected through the tube (13) by means of a cord (12) of the length to which the tube is to be extended. The inserts (1-10) have a disc (5; 17) of foam rubber, the outer circumference of which is larger than the inner circumference of the tube (13) and for which a support in the form of a plate (1) with an outer edge which is bent backwards and the clearance of which from the inner circumference of the tube (13) is smaller than the thickness of the foam-rubber disc (5; 17) is provided on the rear side. Thus, during pulling, one edge region of the foam-rubber disc is clamped between the edge of the plate and the wall of the tube and holds the end of the tube firmly against the plate. <IMAGE>
