PURPOSE:To enhance gradation reproducibility, etc. by using a dye or dye precursor bleachable with acrylate monomer, etc., polymerizing a photopolymerizable element by imagewise exposure, and forming a dye image with heating. CONSTITUTION:When a photopolymerizable element-contg. layer 2 is imagewise exposed, photopolymn. is caused at the exposed parts, and the monomer is polymerized to form a polymer 5. Next, when the layer 2 brought into intimate contact with a dye precursor-contg. layer 3 is heated, the nonpolymerized monomer in the unexposed parts of the layer 2 diffuses to the corresponding parts of the layer 3 and bleaches the dye in a heated state. On the contray, in the exposed parts of the layer 2, the monomer has been already used up for the polymerization, and the dye is not bleached. As a result, a dye image 6 reversed to an original image is formed in the layer 3 contg. the dye precursor. |
