According to the invention, an endoprosthesis comprising a joint part and a stem as a substitute for diseased bones containing diseased bone parts which must be removed by surgery, especially for growing individuals, is designed in such a way that the joint part and the stem are releasably connected by an adaptor of variable length. The adaptor comprises two essentially cylindrical sleeves which cannot be twisted relative to one another and are releasably connected to the joint part and the stem, one of these sleeves accommodating an axially immobile extension of a rotatable head of a screw which can be screwed into an internal screw thread of the other sleeve.
