The chuck has radially adjustable clamping jaws (12) arranged between two adjusting rings (10, 11) connected to the actuating sleeve (6) via opposed threads (10c, 11c). When the actuating sleeve (6) is rotated, the adjusting rings (10, 11) are moved towards one another or away from one another and the clamping jaws (12) are thereby radially adjusted. The clamping jaws (12) have projections (12b) engaging in a positive-locking manner in longitudinal grooves (15b) on the shank (15). <IMAGE>
