A double-drum winch for marine service units is characterised in that each of the two rope drums (1, 2) is driven via epicyclic gear trains arranged between the rope drums (1, 2), in which arrangement a shaft (9) driven in a known manner and rotatably mounted concentrically on the ends of the rope-drum shafts (3, 4) meshes with planet gears (19) by means of its sun gears (18) connected to it in such a way as to be fixed in terms of rotation and belonging to the epicyclic gear trains, the planet carriers (20) of which planet gears (19) are concentrically connected to ends of the rope-drum shafts (3, 4) in such a way as to be fixed in terms of rotation, and the planet gears (19) of both epicyclic gear trains mesh with circumferential gears (14) which mesh in a rotatably mounted manner with a bevel gear (16) likewise rotatably mounted between the circumferential gears (14) in a fixed part of the winch, as a result of which the rope drums (1, 2), differentiated via the shaft (9) when the bevel gear (16) is freely rotatable, are driven in synchronism when the bevel gear (16) is braked and are driven in opposite directions with an advantageous speed reduction when the bevel gear (16) is driven. <IMAGE>
