The bevel gearbox comprises a wheel and a pinion rotating on their respective axes. The wheel (12) and the pinion (13) have thrust reaction faces (17-20) working together and shaped to prevent axial movement of the pinion in one direction at least when running. One of the faces can be formed by a thrust ring fixed to the wheel or pinion and they can be in line with teeth meshing ona cone line (21). External conical faces work together, at the front and rear part of the pinion. The radius of the outer cone face can be smaller than that of the respective inner one.
