<p>PURPOSE:To take an accurate measurement of a gas to be measured freely from other component gases, by passing the gas to be measured in a sample gas coming out from a sample cell through a reference cell after it is transformed into the other component gas. CONSTITUTION:A sample gas is injected into an ozonizer 28 after passing through a sample cell 24. At the ozonizer 28, O2 contained in the sample gas is transformed into O3 by silent discharge, etc., and, simultaneously, NO gas is transformed into NO2 gas by a reaction, NO+O3 NO2+O2. The sample gas is then introduced into an ozonolysiser 30 and, after excessive O3 is converted into O2 by thermal decomposition, injected into a reference cell 25. The sample gas injected into the sample cell 24 contains NO gas and the sample gas injected into the reference cell contains NO2 gas. Since infrared ray spectrum absorption wavelength bands of the NO gas and NO2 gas are different from each other, the difference is detected by a differential condenser type detector 26.</p> |
