PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of plural indexes in the same architecture by registering and storing information related to a real index when a real index having the same architecture as that of the index requested to form exists already. CONSTITUTION:When the user 1 requests the generation of an index, an index generation section 12 is started, an index architecture information storage section 10 is retrieved and whether or not the same content as the designated architecture information is registered already is checked. When the index is not registered yet, a real index generating section 14 is started, a real index name is fed to a generate a real index and registered in the index architecture information storage section 10. When the real index having the same architecture information as the index subject to generation of forming is found out and the real index is formed, a corresponding information registration section 15 is started, and a new virtual index name and the real index name are registered while being corresponding mutually to an index corresponding information storage section 11. |
