PURPOSE:To utilize effectively a main storage by making an operating area in a ZAP area resident to the main storage, and an area not in use unresident to the main storage to prevent duplicated use of the ZAP area and also decrease waste resident amount. CONSTITUTION:A resident module 6, a ZAP module 5 and a system initializing unresident module 9 or the like are stored in a load module area 4. When an operating request of the ZAP area is made by the input from a patch data input section 1, a set section 2 extracts the required area and revises a boundary information storage section 8 to form a new boundary with the area not in use. A system initializing section 10 loads the resident module 6 to a prescribed area on the main storage 15 by using a resident module load section 11. Then a ZAP area load section 12 loads the module 5. Not all are loaded on the main storage, and the area is made resident by using the area in use 7-1 only the ZAP area and a boundary discrimination section 13 is provided for the purpose.
