PURPOSE:To improve ATS accuracy and efficiency of a tail end stop control device by employing, as a speed reference of a thyristor Leonard, a speed reference pattern after correction for a prescribed period of time after starting automatic tail end stop control and thereafter employing a speed reference pattern before said correction. CONSTITUTION:When tail omission of a final stand is generated, the tail end of a strip undgoes tracking by a programable controller to permit a remaining length to be estimated. Hereby, a speed reference pattern (a) is prepared, corrected in a correction arithmetic operating part 33 into (a-b)Ks to provide a reference input to a speed control device 25, allowing speed control to be effected based on said result. The speed reference serves as an output (a) of a speed reference pattern generating circuit 31 at a timing adapted to the reduced speed of a tension reel, allowing speed control to be effected based on the result. |
