PURPOSE:To attain switching without switching of a recording density designation signal by a microprocessor unit by controlling automatically the switching or recording density of a disc device in response to a track and the recording of the disc. CONSTITUTION:A write register 2 sets data designating the recording density of the disc and the disc side. A floppy disc controller 4 is intended to control a floppy disc drive device 5, which sets a floppy disc and reads/writes information from the disc. A recording density designation signal output circuit 6 detects and processes a head position signal from the disc drive device 5 and the data from the write register 2 and controls automatically the recording density of the disc device in response to the track of the disc and recording density.
