The invention relates to a self-advancing powered support system for the face support in underground mine operation, the support assemblies of which are provided with self-advancing mechanisms which act perpendicularly to the working face and by means of which the support assemblies are moved forward in the direction of the working face. In order to facilitate the moving of a longwall face equipped with such a self-advancing support system, the invention proposes that the support assemblies have further self-advancing mechanisms which act parallel to the working face and by means of which the support assemblies are moved successively sideways parallel to the working face. This enables a rise heading to be produced at one head side of the face equipment over the width of the face and enables the self-advancing powered support system together with the entire face equipment to be moved sideways into this rise heading while maintaining the formation. |
