PURPOSE:To mount simply the titled detector to an electric wire, and to pass through the repaired part of the electric wire to detect the disconnection of a strand at high accuracy by straddling plural split sleeves to which detecting coils are attached through links when mounting the electric wire. CONSTITUTION:When using, a shaft 4a for straddling is lifted up to open split sleeves 1a, 1b connected freely turnably around a shaft P to an arm A by links 3a, 3b, and an electric wire is inserted. At the same time, a pulley is mounted on the electric wire. Then, split sleeves are returned to original position by own weight of split sleeves 1a, 1b by releasing the shaft 4a for straddling. The pulley is driven by a motor etc. to run a disconnection detector, and change of inductance of detecting coils 2a-2f attached to a fitting frame 1 is detected by an electronic circuit in a gondola C. In such a way, the change of the strand, for instance, flaws and disconnection, is detected.
